2025-04-07

The "Energy Consumption Quota per Unit Product of Pulp and Paper Making (GB 31825 - 2024)", approved and issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China, will come into force on May 1, 2025, replacing the 2015 version entirely. This update brings about significant changes. The energy-consumption quota levels have been adjusted from "advanced value", "access value", and "limiting value" to "Level 1", "Level 2", and "Level 3". The energy-consumption quotas for various pulping processes, such as bleached chemical wood pulp and unbleached chemical pulp, as well as for a variety of paper products, like newsprint and uncoated printing and writing paper, have been revised. Additionally, energy-consumption quotas for bleached chemical non-wood pulp (commodity pulp), Glassine Paper, thermal paper base stock, thermal paper, and other products have been added, and the scope of energy-consumption statistics has been adjusted.
